About Heather

I never thought I would become a pastor. In fact, I had my whole life planned out and this part was definitely not in there. When I was in fifth grade, I designed a blueprint of the future newsroom office I would someday occupy. I wanted to be journalist when I grew up and I did for a number of years serving as a hometown newspaper reporter and magazine editor. I have always been intensely curious and loved learning about people, places and experiences.

In short, I love a good story.

Well, God got hold of my heart and the rest is history. I didn’t completely abandon my childhood dream but instead have found a deeply satisfying and meaningful way to capture and relay stories of love, loss, and transformation through life’s once-in-a-lifetime moments.

I became an ordained pastor in 2018 and have dedicated much of my ministry serving the wonderful community at New England Chapel in Franklin, MA.

I became a certified facilitator of Prepare & Enrich, a pre- and post-marital coaching program designed to help couples navigate the many ups and downs of matrimony. Having coached dozens of couples since 2018, it has helped me discover the big place in my heart for walking alongside couples before they head down the aisle - and years after the big day when most marriages need a tune-up.

I also have deep respect and empathy for grief, mourning, and standing in the gap as people say their final goodbyes to a loved one. Grief has been a big part of my story. For a number of years, I co-hosted a podcast called Grit, Grace with a Side of Grief with a close friend. It’s part of life.

And life IS awesome and hard and sacred and personal. And I’d love to play a small part in yours whether you are looking for an officiant for a wedding or celebration of life, or a pastor to provide spiritual care, marriage coaching, baptisms, or speaking and event opportunities.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, I attended Saint Anselm College, where I earned Amy Bachelor’s degree in Sociology - the study of people. I went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Concordia University and based on the number of books I read each month, consider myself a lifetime learner.

I have also have an identical twin sister, have been married to Kevin for 26 years and have two awesome and wildly different grown children.

Please know, I don’t push faith on anyone. I just share mine when asked. That’s because the story of God is the best one out there. I promise.

Pastor Heather went above and beyond anything we expected. She’s patient, an amazing teacher, and she was always there for us whenever we needed her.

Any fears or trepidation that my then fiance had before our first meeting were immediately assuaged due to Heather’s inviting and warm demeanor. She has an aptitude for making people feel comfortable. Her humility, sense of humor and genuine desire to help others grow in their relationship together and with God made it so we truly looked forward to our meetings together.
